Earth & The Elements - Can They Really Help You Manifest?
If you clicked on this article, there is a good chance you’re drawn to all things nature. There’s also a good chance you are empathic (meaning: you may take on emotions from others) and you know that being IN nature helps you recharge.
You might even know the reason that nature is so recharging is because you ARE nature yourself! Which means you realigning with nature, is a realignment to yourself.
But did you know that nature — in particular each of the 5 elements, CAN actually help you manifest the life you want?!
If you are interested in just exactly how that works… then you’re in the right place.
First, What is Manifestation?
Manifestation might have a lot of definitions if you google it. A common definition is the act of bringing what we intentionally WANT to have in our lives, into reality. But Manifestation is truly the sum of ALL our thoughts, expectations, and especially our energy — showing up in our external reality. Meaning we have created EVERYTHING in our lives, good or bad. Individually, as well as collectively.
When most people think of manifestation, they think of the “good stuff” they want to attract in. I call this a more “intentional” manifestation. But it helps to know, it’s actually EVERY part of your life you’re attracting in (yep). Which is why learning to manage your energy, thoughts and expectations… is so important.
Luckily. The Elements can be a fun way to bring our intentional manifestations to life.
This article covers the 5 Elements. Earth, Water, Fire, Air as well As Spirit (Ether). But it’s important to know they ALL work together. This is what creates balance in our lives. When we are balanced… as my students know, THIS is when manifestation truly becomes effortless. Let’s get into it.
Earth
This is perhaps the most important of them all. GROUNDING. If we try to go about our lives and manifest great things without acknowledging earth element, we may find our manifestations often “crumbling” to the ground. Have you had an experience like this? Earth Element provides our FOUNDATION from which to build upon.
Plus, something my students in the Manifestation Program know well, you MUST be grounded to even let a new intentional manifestation in. Our manifestations that we set are ALWAYS trying to get to us. The problem is… most of us are living with scattered or anxious energy. Maybe with our head in the clouds (literally or figuratively) so much that we are not giving an actual space for our manifestation to land.
9 times out of 10, when you drop attachment to the thing you’re wanting to manifest, and use that energy instead to connect down to the Earth, your manifestation will come in quickly.
You can ground your body down with yoga, meditation, qi gong. earthing, whole earthy foods, getting quiet and being present to the moment you’re in right NOW. It can also be by connecting with a loved one. Touching, seeing, hearing each other. Get into your senses. All of this will help ground you.
When you can detach from the outcome, and come into appreciation for being right here right now. THIS puts you in the mode of already attracting in your manifestation. It becomes automatic.
2. Water
The element of water. Pause before you read on, and think of how YOU might interpret this one to relate to manifestation?
What did you come up with?
Water is an important one that often gets overlooked. Our society, schools, and jobs often teach us to be quite riged, scheduled, FOCUSED, on time, & on task. Going, going, going! And YES, some may thrive with this. But there are different personality types. If you’re an empath, and/or you landed on this page... Likely the “go go go, ridged scheduled lifestyle” isn’t one that leads to you feeling your best.
And that’s ok! The element of water reminds us that life is meant to be FLUID. To change and shift. Some seasons we are busier and rushing fast like a river after a rainstorm! And some seasons of our lives are calmer, like a cool still lake on a summer morning. Water reminds us it’s good to be able to move and be flexible with the needs of our day, and with our life.
Another struggle many empaths hit when they are trying to manifest is trying to DO too many things to manifest — I know, how ironic by reading an article on something you can “do” — I GET it. But there are different types of “doing” There’s hustle and pushing harder than you really want to,
And then there is aligned action. Aligned action is a type of “doing” that lights you up and tends to give you more energy back. THIS is where you thrive, and where you can create a work, social, and family life that gives you balanced energy instead of leaving you drained (literally “drained” and disconnected from the water element).
I help my students in the Manifestation Program, and my coaching clients see exactly what their own unique aligned actions are. Learning to recognize them (and act on them!) is key. They are unique to you. You’ll know you’ve found it when you feel GOOD, and at peace by the end of the day instead of drained.
You can tap into Water Element to help bring you back into balance by having a long bath or shower, swimming, bonus if outdoors in a lake, ocean, river spot. Walking in the rain, (when did it get programmed into us that rain meant go inside?) Connecting to Reiki or any flow of higher energy as a “waterfall” style energy healing (DM here to learn how to do this yourself).
We can also become more connected with water element by just simply spending time with it. Hold a glass of water and intentionally pour positive energy into the glass. Imagine ways the water will nourish, cleanse, and refresh you. Thank it for its life giving properties (truly say thanks!). Slow down to drink with intention. Any of the above things done (with intention) will bring you back into harmony with water element.
3. Fire
Now that we are grounded, and have our more fluid aligned actions that LIGHT US UP. (If you don’t know how to figure out YOUR aligned action yet, definitely DM here).
We move onto fire.
Fire element and energy is what ignites PASSION in us. It is the motivational fire, our inner drive to grow, expand, and succeed. This can look different for everyone but typically fire element shows up by our desire to work, create, share things we love with others. To write, dance, build, learn, teach, whatever it is that YOU love. Fire element helps us take action and expand and grow our interests. For example perhaps you want to get into yoga but are unsure where to start, so you try out a beginner class. You taking the ACTION of showing up, which stokes the fire more and you can now expand into learning MORE about yoga philosophy and/or poses. Same thing for any topic.
One thing to be aware of with fire element… is that we need to be careful not to let that passion (fire) extinguish. While we can ALWAYS get it back, it may seem harder to rekindle if we’ve had quite a few months or even years since we felt passionate.
To bring back passion, while yes you could do something like walk on hot coals! (please only attempt with professional supervision). You likely don’t need to do anything so extreme. A simple way to begin to bring back a feeling of passion is to follow the next three steps:
Pause, and feel into your heart, Set intention that you want to bring back the feeling of passion, and then ask yourself or your Higher Self:
“What is the NEXT best thing for me to do?” (no judgment of what pops into your mind)
Then do it. Reach out (here or with a friend) for accountability. AFTER you do it CELEBRATE yourself for taking a step towards bringing back your passion! The mind loves to celebrate, and taking the action to celebrate, even if it seems small WILL rekindle that fire.
4. Air
Air element is equally as important as the others. When we are manifesting it is important to see our possibility and potential in EVERYthing we are doing. What we expect to see, we will often receive.
Being able to see a true “sky’s the limit” view for whatever your goal, intention, or manifestation is will carry you far. Since what we perceive to be possible is such a big part of manifesting, it is important to keep an open mindset. If you struggle to believe in what’s possible for you, look at evidence of what is possible for OTHERS. Find an example where something similar has been done. Even if you’re still struggling to believe it can happen for you, your subconscious will be building evidence that it is possible.
Feel free to expand and stay Open to new ideas as well. The Air element shows us that truly any direction is possible and that there is a clear open path to anything we want. While yes, there may be some energy blocks and barriers to clear along the way to our manifestation, you might call these storm clouds (100% why coaching & PSYCH-K is so important) there is always a clear sky on the way.
Air element is the reminder to breathe in possibility. To connect more with Air Element:
Try Breathwork, Meditation, spend time outdoors. Pay attention to how you feel in the open air. Notice how the wind feels on your skin, notice the flight of birds, or of dandelion seeds floating along in the wind. Air element continually remind us that anything is possible, it reminds us that we can choose our direction, and we will be able to get there. Especially when we stay balanced with all 5 elements.
5. Spirit (Ether)
Perhaps the one that matters the most. Yet, intentional manifesting will still work without acknowledging it. Although your journey will be quite a bit easier if you DO learn to recognize and build a relationship here.
This can be unique to you. Some use the word God, or Universe. Some say Spirit or Source Energy. I don’t think it matters so much what word you use. But it does matter that you develop a relationship with this Divine Energy. To me it’s the Energy of an Unconditional love that IS always supporting us. When you begin to tap into and hear your intuition, the more you are able to hear and feel your intuition speaking to you, you’ll be able to build a stronger relationship with Spirit. In fact YOU are of this Divine Spirit energy. There is no separation.
To use this one for manifesting, and to reconnect for your own peace - find a way that feels good to YOU to connect with Source Energy. This could be prayer, meditation, journaling, spending time with the above 4 elements. Developing a gratitude practice or a lifestyle of intentionally living, loving, and accepting others.
There really isn’t a right or a wrong here, but the more you lean in and ask for help. The more you will receive. All we have to do is ask, and we will receive.
